Neuropsychological Assessments

A neuropsychological assessment is an in-depth standardized assessment of understanding how the brain processes a variety of information impacting your behavior.  A comprehensive evaluation will provide a road map to how your brain works in order to formulate a customized plan that will help you maximize your thinking and processing abilities.

A neuropsychologist is also involved with the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation planning of the individual. This is an important factor to consider when seeking an evaluation.  When the evaluation has concluded, it is important to know what to do moving forward.  With all of the assessments conducted, I provide a specific and individualized recommendation section detailing your unique abilities with targeted interventions to maximize your strengths and to best support your weaknesses.

A neuropsychological assessment is appropriate whenever there is a doubt or a need to understand an individual's cognitive functioning or competency. The assessment is not just for memory, but for a large range of cognitive domains including executive function, working memory, processing speed, attention and learning, sensorimotor, social, behavioral, psychological, and personality abilties. Neuropsychological assessments can detect structural abnormalities before it is observable on neuroimaging (Kulas & Naugle, 2003).

In my assessments, I also conduct psychological and personality assessments to understand if there are underlying emotional issues that may be impeding your quality of life and impacting your day to day functioning.

As part of the admissions process for some private schools, I provide the required IQ testing (WPPSI-IV or WISC-V).  These assessments are typically done in one session and there is an option of a feedback.
